yesterday the first batch of trainees from the UM had our CPR training at the Red Cross HQ. years had passed since i last actively participated in their activities, but a queer sense of nostalgia overwhelmed me for a while when i reached with jess after our breakfast at the wangjiao.
i was kinda relieved after realising that our chief instructor of the day, thiru was a humourous guy. we had a really great time there. however, i felt really out of place as the people i knew there were the 03 gals: jess, cheryl leow, sabrina, mei geok amd jocelyn. i know them, yes, but not to the extent of being able to find a common topic. so i felt strangely out of place when i walked back from lunch with them. well, at least i met chun choon at the ps kopitiam which kinda alleviated my symptoms a bit. haha! well, there were guys there and it might have been great interacting with them. but since they were already talking among themselves already, then i thought, wad the heck. just let them continue with their own conversations and i just hang around with the gals. hope they dun find me xtra...
the practical was harder than we are thought. in the end, we all did the compressions till our hands got localised hyperemia and wrist edema. and still having to say the mnemonics of 1&2&3&4&5&1&2&3&4&10&1&........30, we became out of breath as much as little anne.
well, thank goodness that despite of our instructors-shaking-head-continuously performance, they still let us passed. when i asked thiru whether mine was acceptable, he just smiled at me and said 'it's better than nothing'. comforting.
